A peaceful passing…

This is Sandy’s son Greg with sad news.

After a life well lived, an inspiring fight, and a comfortable final week surrounded by loving family, my mom is at peace, having passed in her sleep the afternoon of Sunday, January 30. She was ready and not afraid, and she asked me to thank you for your friendship, love and support.

Services of remembrance and celebration will be held at the end of this week: a viewing/visitation Thursday evening, followed by a funeral service Friday at noon starting at the Sego Lily Ward of the LDS church in Sandy, Utah, and proceeding to her burial site. I’ll provide more specifics shortly.

  1. Dear Greg, Kerstin and Peter,
Since I was afraid opening this “blogmail” I telephoned “mamma” and read it together with her. Made us sad! At the same time we felt gratitude… having been close to our loving, inspiring, fighting, living Sandy. So many warm, strong memories. So much generosity Sandy and you – her family showed us. To me my visit with you all in 2006 was just wonderful. And Dancing in the Rain has been an precious experience – to
be a little piece in this dance. Mamma spoke about what Sandy had written in their guestbook and their meeting with Sandy and Kerstin in S.F, Visiting the US many years ago.
If you may, give her a kiss and caress from us.
You all made our lives richer!!
    Love/Eva, Mamma and Pappa

  2. Dear Greg, Kerstin and Peter,
Words cannot express our sorrow and sympathy at Sandy’s passing. She was always such a joy to have as a friend.
She loved you so much, as you know, and she was so proud of you.
We pray for God’s comfort for you all during this time of grief.
    With love

  3. OH!!! I am so sad. I loved Sandy. I tried to get her by accessing her blog to see how she was doing but was unsuccessful. I sent & received a Christmas card from her. Oh dear, I will miss her cherry spirit, always so positive, helpful & friendly. God rest her soul. She sure fought hard to live.

God bless her & gather her to his presence in heaven. God bless all of you & give you comfort at this time of loss.

We will all miss Sandy & her indomitable spirit.
